Quality Engineer

Location: Prospect Heights, IL

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Prospect Heights, IL. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the inspection of products to ensure they meet our company's high standards. Additionally, you will lead and manage a team of inspectors and provide direction for quality improvement processes.

Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive quality vision, strategy, and procedures to enhance operational performance

Ensure compliance with all procedures outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS)

Update and modify in-house systems and procedures to meet external certification requirements

Take prompt and effective actions in response to customer complaints, including analysis, error proofing, and implementing corrective measures

Promote and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the organization

Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues

Update and communicate quality documentation to incorporate lessons learned from past quality concerns

Establish and improve quality sign-off instructions, standards, and documentationPrepare written reports and deliver presentations

Provide comprehensive training on the quality system and procedures to colleaguesMotivate and guide the team towards achieving operational success

Monitor task completion and ensure good performance, maintaining accurate records

Lead by example and enforce high standards across the team

Maintain and update company records, such as training matrices, performance reviews, and risk assessments

Offer technical expertise and guidance to the team

Supervise and guide Quality Engineers and Technicians in part sign-off and resolution of quality concerns, both internally and externally

Perform root cause analysis, resolve problems, and communicate any implications

Establish departmental objectives and assess ongoing performance of team members

Lead and develop a high-performing Quality Operations team that consistently achieves objectives, delivers best practice results, and drives continuous improvements

Motivate and guide the team towards achieving operational success

Monitor task completion and ensure good performance, maintaining accurate records

Maintain and update company records, such as training matrices, performance reviews, and risk assessments

Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated leadership and management abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to effectively manage diverse cross-functional teams

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Strong organizational and follow-up abilities

Proficient in problem solving, team building, planning, and decision making

CMM programming experience required, with preference for Calypso proficiency
