Automation Controls Engineer, Rockwell PLC Systems

Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Full-time
Travel: Required to company facilities for projects and start-ups
Pay: $90,000 to $110,000 per year

Design and support the automation systems that keep manufacturing running, working on projects and start-ups across multiple facilities.

Must-Haves

• Solid understanding of industrial automation programming
• Strong knowledge of electrical concepts and theory
• Understanding of WAN and LAN networks
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including writing procedures and reports
• Ability to work independently and manage your time
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel by air

What You'll Do

• Develop, integrate, and maintain manufacturing equipment controls, HMIs, and industrial networks
• Support automation projects under the direction of senior engineers and integrators
• Travel to facilities to support project work and start-ups
• Partner with site controls technicians on troubleshooting and training
• Support plant operations with electrical and automation needs
• Write clear automation instructions for maintenance teams
• Work with plant operations to improve system architecture and output

Nice-to-Haves

• Rockwell RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, and Studio 5000
• FactoryTalk View and RSView
• Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, InBatch, and Historian
• PowerFlex VFDs and Point IO or Flex IO systems
• Knowledge of flow meters, temperature probes, level sensors, photoeyes, and solenoid valves
• Microsoft SQL, AutoCAD, VMware, or Cisco networking
• Programming in C++, Visual Basic, Java, or Python

Compensation and Benefits

• $90,000 to $110,000 per year
