Senior Applications Engineer, Metal Injection Molding
Location: Rockford, IL
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000 to $130,000 per year
Help grow a metal injection molding business that is actively investing in people and equipment, from first quote to production launch.
Must-Haves
- Applications or product engineering experience in metal injection molding (MIM) or powder metals
- Design skills, including CAD solid modeling
- Customer-facing technical experience
- Experience developing engineering quotes for new products
- Knowledge of APQP and new product launch
What You’ll Do
- Build engineering quotations covering materials, operations, tooling, fixtures, gauging, and capital
- Recommend design changes to make customer parts manufacturable with MIM
- Create marked-up prints and modify CAD models
- Lead manufacturing and delivery of engineering and prototype samples
- Lead technical discussions with customers and represent their needs internally
- Lead the APQP team through Gate 1 and support through Gate 5
- Support Sales and the Product Launch team as a key technical resource
Nice-to-Haves
- Engineering degree
- Experience in automotive or other regulated markets using APQP and PPAP
- Tooling or mold design experience
Compensation and Benefits
