Injection Mold Supervisor, Automotive Plastics

Location: McDonough, GA
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, supporting 1st and 2nd shifts as needed
Pay: $65,000 to $80,000 per year

Lead injection molding operations at a new automotive plant, building the processes and team from the ground up.

Must-Haves

• 3 to 5+ years in injection molding operations, including process troubleshooting and mold changes
• Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, robotics, and auxiliary equipment
• Proven ability to correct molding defects and optimize cycle times
• Working knowledge of thermoplastic materials and resin handling
• Flexibility to support both shifts during start-up

What You’ll Do

• Supervise daily injection molding operations to hit schedule, quality, and efficiency goals
• Train and support production personnel
• Oversee machine setups, mold changes, and changeovers to reduce downtime
• Optimize temperature, pressure, speed, cooling, and cycle time
• Troubleshoot short shots, flash, sink, warpage, burns, and weld lines
• Ensure proper resin drying, blending, regrind control, and traceability
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Tooling on equipment and mold issues
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and 5S
• Help build SOPs and process documentation for the new facility

Nice-to-Haves

• Supervisory or team lead experience
• Production start-up or equipment installation experience
• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Degree in Plastics Engineering or Manufacturing

Compensation and Benefits

• $65,000 to $80,000 per year
• Ground-floor role in a new facility
