Commodity Manager, Plastic Resins and Chemicals

Location: Morristown, TN
Job Type: Full-time
Travel: As needed for supplier visits and audits
Pay: $100,000 to $120,000 per year

Shape procurement strategy for resins and chemicals across North American facilities, driving cost savings, supply continuity, and supplier performance.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of procurement experience
• Strong knowledge of plastics and chemicals procurement
• Strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management expertise
• Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering documents
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
• Knowledge of supply market trends and purchasing contract law
• Willingness to travel as needed

What You’ll Do

• Manage procurement of resins, TiO2, carbon black, and chemical additives, plus indirect materials
• Build commodity strategies to maximize leverage, supply continuity, and cost efficiency
• Lead supplier selection, RFQs, total cost of ownership analysis, and contract negotiations
• Conduct market analysis on trends, cost drivers, and technology shifts
• Manage supplier relationships through visits, audits, and performance reviews
• Lead cost reduction workshops and supplier corrective actions
• Support material budgeting and cost forecasting
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Operations to reduce supply risk

Nice-to-Haves

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or Chemistry
• Plastics manufacturing background
