Lead Automation Controls Engineer, Allen-Bradley PLC

Location: Germantown, WI (Greater Milwaukee / Washington County)
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Flexible day shift, with comp days guaranteed for weekend startups
Travel: 25% to 50% domestic
Pay: $75,000 to $110,000 per year, plus profit sharing

Program custom machinery from the ground up, from robotic welding cells to high-speed sortation systems, at a fast-growing integrator that protects your time.

Must-Haves

  • 2+ years designing and programming controls from scratch on Allen-Bradley / Rockwell (Studio 5000, RSLogix)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with FactoryTalk View HMI development
  • Willingness to travel 25% to 50% for commissioning
  • Track record of stable tenure with prior engineering teams
  • Must live within 45 minutes of the Greater Milwaukee / Washington County area
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder

What You'll Do

  • Build PLC programs and HMI interfaces from scratch in Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View
  • Program automated machinery, robotic cells, and sortation systems
  • Review and validate electrical panel layouts and control schematics in AutoCAD
  • Configure EtherNet/IP networks, multi-axis servo drives, vision systems, and safety PLCs
  • Develop advanced interfaces using Visual Studio, C#, and databases for data tracking
  • Lead on-site commissioning and final customer sign-offs

Nice-to-Haves

  • Multi-axis servo motion or Cognex or Keyence vision experience
  • C#, VB.NET, or SQL programming
  • FANUC or industrial robot programming

Compensation and Benefits
