Quality Engineer

Position Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year + bonus

Job Summary for the Quality Assurance Engineer: The Quality Assurance Engineer will be a valuable member of the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing quality processes, such as the currently ongoing implementation of ISO-9001. As a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance and support to Quality leadership in addressing quality assurance concerns and ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • Identify and utilize best practices in Quality Assurance and Manufacturing-related processes.
  • Contribute to the development of Quality process strategy and identify areas for improvement across the organization.
  • Evaluate and interpret industry and internal Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements to develop effective procedures and instructions.
  • Assist Quality teams, inspectors, and senior leadership in investigating and resolving quality issues, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage projects as part of the High-Performance Team Board process.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO-9001 quality management systems.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Expertise in ISO-9000 and internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of CORE, Lean, or Six-Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements in manufacturing, product, and customer quality processes.
  • Provide input and influence the development, application, and maintenance of quality control systems and protocols.
  • Visualize and communicate process flows for stakeholders and teams.
  • Build relationships with leaders and team members to drive a culture of change and improvement.
  • Effectively manage projects and mitigate risks using proactive project management techniques.
  • Design and deliver solutions that meet organizational needs and add value to the company.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and leadership in setting objectives and guiding others towards achieving operational results.
  • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
