RN Director of Perioperative Services, OR and Endoscopy
Location: Ithaca, NY
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Pay: $155,000 to $165,000 per year
Lead system-level perioperative services, from the OR and endoscopy to sterile processing, with real influence over quality, throughput, and growth.
Must-Haves
- BSN
- Current RN license
- 5+ years of healthcare experience focused on surgical services
- 3+ years of surgical services leadership
- Strong knowledge of operating room and perioperative clinical standards
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, productivity analysis, and performance metrics
- Strong recruitment, retention, and performance management skills
- Ability to lead effectively in a matrixed organization
What You'll Do
- Lead daily operations across the operating room, pre-op, post-op, preadmission testing, OR scheduling, endoscopy, and sterile processing
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and state and federal regulations
- Set operational goals, policies, staffing models, and standardized workflows
- Improve access, throughput, efficiency, patient experience, and financial results
- Build reports on capacity, utilization, staffing ratios, quality, and scheduling
- Manage operating and capital budgets and conduct cost and productivity analyses
- Partner with medical staff, nursing, finance, and IT to improve services
- Coach and develop managers and emerging leaders
- Lead process redesign and support strategic growth of surgical services
- Represent leadership during regulatory reviews
Nice-to-Haves
- Master's degree
- AORN, CASC, or another leadership certification
- Multi-location perioperative leadership experience
- Process improvement and throughput optimization experience
- Strong project management skills
Compensation and Benefits
- $155,000 to $165,000 per year
